12 Best Amazon Finds from October 2023
Amazon shopping is one of my all time favorite activities! As a midsize gal, it’s always great to have stores that deliver right to my door to try on garments in the comfort of my own home. Plus I’ve always been a fan of this website, you can truly find a bit of everything here from fashion to home to beauty and so much more. With Prime Days happening earlier this month I made sure to use that opportunity to test out a few new products. I will say this month also had a lot of returns but I’m making sure I only share the real winners that I recommend. It can be tough at times weeding through the endless options of Amazon but I promise you there are some hidden gems you will love!

Trench coat
Each week on Instagram I ask my girls what they are shopping for at that time. I was getting a surprisingly high number of trench coat requests and I felt terrible because I didn’t actually own a trench coat at the time! I had kept one from Target for the longest time until I donated it earlier this year because it was a little thinner than I had hoped for fall/winter wear. Enter Amazon and the hunt to find my dream coat! I settled on this gorgeous tan color option that is a bit oversized and boxy. I love menswear inspired outerwear and find this one to be super easy to style multiple ways. The key here is wearing sleek outfits underneath so you aren’t wearing boxy on boxy!
Pro Tip: if you want to give a bigger coat like this trench some shape, try tying the belt behind you instead of in front of you. This helps create an hourglass figure and looks chic on a longer coat. I also recommend wearing the coat without the belt on days when you really want the under outfit to shine. Matching belts can come off as cheap and detract from the overall look!
Black shorts
This was a bit of an unexpected buy but a great find regardless. I didn’t own fitted shorts to go under dresses or skirts prior to this purchase but I’m so glad I have these now! These shorts are super soft and worked well with my Black Swan Halloween costume. They’re the shorts real dancers usually wear and I definitely plan to wear these throughout the year. They also don’t roll down or up which was an issue I typically faced with a garment like this which is such a bonus!
White mini skort
October of course is Halloween month and if you’ve been on my website for awhile you know I’m a huge Halloween girly! I’ve been one upping myself the past few years with different costume ideas and my second costume of 2023 was Luigi from Super Mario Bros. This was a pretty easy costume and if you already had a white skirt it was even easier to create! Now I am not normally a pleated skirt gal but this skort option was actually super cute and something I can see myself wearing in the spring and summer. Its trendy without being over the top and went really well with a tube top and hat for my costume!
Pro Tip: when buying Halloween costumes, try to get items you know you will wear more than once. I sometimes struggle to over consume especially when it comes to items I will wear one time. I’m now trying to be strategic with my purchases and I know a skirt like this will come in handy during transitional seasons or warm weather activities like golf!
Black pajama set
I initially got this pajama set for a birthday party but it was cancelled day of! Honestly so glad I got it though because I had a wedding that weekend out of town and this was the perfect travel set. I love how it’s a soft satin-y material and it can fold to be rather small for luggage. Purchased in a size L this is also a comfortable enough set that provides my body with enough coverage to go in public. Sometimes Amazon shorts can be a bit too short but these are amazing!
Satin skirt
Continuing with the satin trend I picked up this gorgeous satin midi skirt. I thought it would be ideal for work events or more special occasions throughout the colder months. Come the holiday season, I cannot stop wearing satin. I think it’s a gorgeous luxe fabric and this skirt in particular has been amazing. It has a side zipper to get the perfect fit and since it’s a skirt and not a dress, you can do an awful lot with it when it comes to layering and styling.
Pro Tip: wear your satin skirt with sneakers! I used to think fancy materials and garments required fancy footwear but I’m learning that this is not the case. Instead the most interesting of outfits have a combination of high low and that is truly what gives them style!
Puffer vest
Now the only vest I have owned for awhile now is a cute cropped puffer option also from Amazon. As great as it is, it’s a bit short and with winter coming early once again this year I have found myself gravitating toward bigger pieces! I found this cute oversized option and had to give it a try. I like how puffy it is and the lighter color for the fall and winter. I am someone who wears a lot of black so this will be a great contrast to my usual style. The key to a good outfit remember is visual interest and breaking up colors from black and white or tan and dark brown!
Tights set
Growing up I was a ballet dancer so tights were an everyday part of my life! Nowadays I wear them sparingly and needed a new pack for winter 2023/2024. Last year I ripped all of mine and had to stock up ahead of my first Halloween party! I personally prefer a more sheer option like this pack from Amazon. With their high waist I love how easily they hold you in and give your legs and waist some shape and structure. If you have fancier events coming up, I cannot recommend these enough!
Pro Tip: when wearing tights, be sure to be careful putting them on. I make sure to take off rings and bracelets when I wear my tights because they oftentimes snag the garment. Another way to protect your tights is to wear them with socks. I always put a thick sock over mine in boots to really keep me warm!
Black bodysuit
Over the past few years I have gotten into bodysuits! They go great with all of the loose denim styles we are seeing because they are a fitted balance to the baggy bottom. This bodysuit in particular is from Amazon and it is a personal new favorite. It’s from the brand ShaperX and while the brand is shape wear, the garment itself is quite comfortable to wear. I like how it holds my body in and the quality of the material is just insane. It’s so soft, reminds me a lot of Skims but comes in at a fraction of the price. Just be sure to layer with a bodysuit like this because it can be too cold on it’s own!

Olaplex Shampoo
I have not used Olaplex in ages and with my current shampoo and conditioner running out now was the perfect time to restock. Now that I have short hair too I don’t need as much product so a brand like Olaplex is going to last even longer. I love how their products make my hair smell and the shampoo in particular is nice and thick plus it lathers up nicely when in use. You really can’t go wrong!
Olaplex Conditioner
Similar to the shampoo I got the conditioner too! I love how thick and rich the product is, with winter essentially here now is the perfect time to use heavier conditioners to maintain moisture. Like my skin, my hair gets pretty dry this time of year so a nice brand like Olaplex is the way to go.
Pro Tip: use your conditioner after shampoo and let it sit on your ends for a bit. I like to wash my face while the hair is conditioned and it’s akin to doing a little mask in the shower!
