5 Midsize Outfits for Valentine's Day in 2024

Midsize Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas

I can’t believe it’s already almost Valentine’s Day! Coming up with date friendly outfits for either Galentine’s Day or Valentine’s can be difficult, especially as a midsize woman. Don’t you fret though, I have some fabulous items that I have collected over the years that are perfect for the occasion! Whether you want a slinky date night slip or you need a skirt to wear to work, I hope these outfits inspire you. Each look is also size 10-12 midsize girl approved and features one of my favorite colors, pink! To see what you should wear this Valentine’s Day, keep on reading!

Pink Tulle Mini Dress Outfit

I have had this dress for a few years now and I cannot bare to part with it! I think the length is great even if you’er on the taller side and the material is soft enough to wear all night. I have sensitive skin when it comes to fabrics and tulle in particular. Fortunately this dress is comfortable and is also lined with a soft light pink fabric so you don’t have to worry about a slip.

Now, the best part about this dress is its versatility. You can totally dress it up with a nude block heel for a nice night out or you can make it grungy with a combat boot and black sheer tight. I wore the latter to a drag show and it was a total vibe! Another fun option would be high top Converse if you want to give the dress a sportier edge. You can also mix up the dress by wearing it either off the shoulder or as a tank. What a win win!

Pink Floral Slip Dress

Our next dress choice is this stunner from Target. I am a huge Target girly, their clothes tend to fit well and the material is quite nice! This dress in particular has Free People or For Love and Lemons energy and while I like those more high end styles I don’t like high end pricing. Instead I love a good lookalike for less, it’s attainable for the everyday consumer and this isn’t something I will wear for a ton of occasions so I don’t see a reason to splurge.

When it comes to this dress, it’s another piece you can style a few different ways. For a Galentine’s party consider going comfortable with a white sneaker and a denim jacket. If you have fancier plans, try a fur coat and a tall leather boot to contrast against the feminine material. Just don’t get too crazy up top because the floral bust should really be the star of the show and necklaces and hair should be kept to a minimum!

Pink Trousers Outfit for the Office

For my working women, consider a pink or red trouser for Valentine’s Day. I love a bold pant for work, it brightens up the office environment and gives any look some personality. I have personally been keen on these pink trousers from Amazon for some time now. They are perfectly baggy and go great with tees, bodysuits and even sweaters. I also like a pair of pants like this with a pink sweater, color blocking is super fun for Valentine’s Day and breaks up the monotony of winter fashion.

Pro Tip: when wearing loose pants like these trousers, always remember to style in a waist. This could look like wearing a fitted top with the bottoms to keep the outfit balanced or half tucking an oversized button down to give the illusion of an hourglass silhouette. The key is to not overwhelm your frame with baggy on baggy. It also just feels fresher and should help you feel confident in the outfit!

Pink Slip Skirt Outfit Idea

Calling all teachers! I don’t know about you but nothing hits quite like a slip skirt. While my profession is entrepreneur, I know a lot of educators follow my work and love a little skirt moment. The above base outfit is from last Galentine’s Day and would work well with a denim jacket. You could also adapt it with a white tee if you need more coverage. Another fun option would be a graphic sweatshirt or sweater to add a bit of a punch. I love taking basic pieces like this skirt and juxtaposing it against casual pieces to make for a more interesting outfit.

Pro Tip: don’t wear tights with a skirt like this. I think keeping the overall outfit simplistic is the best choice and slip skirts always look best with a bare leg. If you do need extra warmth, consider a tall boot like a cowboy boot. This will keep your legs warm but won’t look weird against the satin-y material.

Red Over the Knee Boots Outfit

Our final choice is on the eclectic side, it’s a bright red over the knee boot! In 2023 and heading into 2024, red is a huge trend and adds a fun pop of color to any outfit. I got this particular pair from Amazon and I like how they have a tie at the back of the leg to keep them up. When incorporating a statement accessory like a tall red boot into an outfit, the key is to keep the rest of the look fairly simplistic. For the look above I opted for a black and white sweater with the simple skirt.

If you want to get really funky, style the boots with a harmonious outfit like a yellow or orange look. Everything will be a warm tone and feel cohesive. For maximum funk, try a complimentary color like green! I would go with a dark green mini dress so the boots are the focus of the outfit.

Have a Happy Valentine’s Day

I hope this post inspires your Valentine’s Day! Whether you need something for work or you are looking for something bold for date night these outfits are fairly easy to replicate. Now, if you’re a sourpuss like me when it comes to Valentine’s Day I just recommend wearing something in the all black family. That is definitely the route I plan to go down day of.
