4 Budget Friendly Pieces of Jewelry that Won't Tarnish

Long Lasting Budget Friendly Jewelry

This is my second time writing this blog because I accidentally deleted the original draft right as I was going to publish it! I am so mad at myself but this jewelry post must go on. I am someone who prior to influencing was not much of a jewelry girly. I had earrings I wore here and there and there is a ring from my grandmother I have worn religiously since high school that hasn’t left my finger but besides that I had a lot of jewels that sat in a box in my room.

Fast forward to spring of 2019 when I started my fashion blog. I quickly learned to accessorize the outfits I was sharing and I realized if I wanted to give these garments a personality I was going to have to adorn them in some sort of jewels. I have always been keen on accessorizing, it’s been fun for me and as I learn more about jewelry and the stories attached to them I have. I’ve also been experimenting with budget friendly jewelry that adds to some of the higher quality pieces I own. When shopping for my own jewels I try to find pieces that won’t turn me green, will go with everything I wear and of course is comfortable to wear. To see my top 4 choices, keep on reading!

Cartier Love Ring Under $20

We are starting off strong with the ring I wear all the time! It’s an Amazon find and I originally had a similar version that had stones attached but those fell out over time whereas this version has lasted well because of the engraved design. Do be weary of stones in budget friendly jewelry because from my experience those do not last as well as simplistic designs.

Nonetheless this ring has also been great because it doesn’t turn my fingers green! In middle and high school I used to wear the cheapest of jewelry and I would go home looking like Elphaba by the end of the day. This ring I can wash multiple times a day and it hasn’t tarnished or turned me any color. It’s just a great throw on ring that looks far more expensive than it is and if you take care of it it’ll last for years to come!

Ear Huggies Under $10

Our next find is from a controversial store, Wish.com. I will say wish is not the best with some quality however they do have inexpensive diamonds in the rough if you need something like that. I personally don’t see the harm in shopping fast fashion if you end up rewearing the pieces a lot. Enter these cute tiny earrings! They almost hug the ear hence the name and the gold looks nice and hasn’t tarnished. Since cutting my hair back in the fall, it’s been a delight playing around with smaller earrings that are not quite as distracting. I see more minimal accessories becoming the norm and I am not mad!

Pro Tip: I did have to play around with these earrings some when I first got them. They did not clip together well initially but they have been great since I bent them a hair to fit well in my ears. Since they are so cheap you do have to give them some DIY treatment but they aren’t annoying to wear once the “surgery” is done and I haven’t noticed the earrings shape actually change since I made the adjustment.

Best Chunky Gold Hoops for Everyday Wear

I got this pair of earrings back in 2020 and they have yet to leave my side! I absolutely love how thick they are and they go with absolutely everything. Coming in an even larger size with other colors available these hoops are an absolute mainstay in my collection. While they look heavy they are actually pretty lightweight on the ears and they look good with your hair up or down. I personally have these in a large version too in gold plus a rose gold option to spice things up. I will say after many years they have worn slightly but that is mainly at the lobe and not all over the earring itself. These are just such a classic that they are worth it to me and I rewear them all the time!

Best Budget Friendly Teardrop Earrings

Our final pair of earrings is so different from what I usually wear and they add a great geometric vibe to an outfit. Again I think jewelry tells a story in your outfits and these add a punch that I have yet to find elsewhere. Coming in silver or gold these earrings are like a hoop but a little bit thicker. I like wearing mine to work or to dates since they do elevate the most simplistic of outfits. Now I will say these were a little bit more challenging to get used to compared to some of the other options mentioned above. They have a slight weight to them and they can be hard to put on if you have longer nails. I just advise practicing a few times and you will get it right!

Pro Tip: these earrings go on sale a lot! Fortunately with all of the pieces mentioned today everything is under $20 and very affordable for everyday use. The amount of wear I get from these earrings considering the cost benefit is crazy!! You really can’t go wrong with a fun basic item to jazz up your wardrobe, I believe that is really what makes an outfit yours.

Happy Shopping

I hope this post inspires your upcoming jewelry shopping! You never have to pay a ton to look great and fashion is more attainable than you think. The key is finding pieces that spark joy and take your outfit to the next level. I always like to juxtapose a budget friendly earring against a lounge set and call it a fit. I also love scouring Amazon to find the best deals on earrings that I know will stand the test of time.
