New Bedroom Tour

How to Decorate an Apartment Bedroom

In case you missed it, I recently moved to a luxury apartment in Spokane WA! I am so excited for this new chapter in my life, so far everything has been going great. With this change in scenery has also led to a whole new vibe for my room and overall decor style. Truth be told I’m not great at interior design but I love watching my space come together and I’m quite proud of how my room turned out. To see how I decorated and where to get the pieces, keep on reading!

For my bedroom, I wanted everything to be functional yet stylish. As a full time fashion creator, I have so many clothes and accessories so I wanted to display my pieces almost as art! I think it gives the space some personality and breaks up the light neutrals throughout the room.

Now, I decided to break up my room as follows. I have a small organizer directly to the left of my door that works for both my fan and handbag storage. I like that I kept with white furniture, everything matches and it just feels clean. Next to the organizer I have my closet which is organized by footwear on the bottom, fashion pieces on hangers and denim/workout clothes on top. I tried not to pack my whole wardrobe but I am sure the closet space will grow over the next year.

To the right of my closet I have my dresser which doubles as a vanity. So far I have a round mirror overhead for makeup but I’m considering removing that to add in a rectangular mirror. I also have matching acrylic organizers for my makeup and jewelry. Again this allows for the fashion aspect to shine through while keeping things organized!

When it comes to my bed, I kept my grey bedspread from Tacoma. I love how lightweight and fluffy it is, it also has matching pillow cases which are fun. I did have to purchase pillows from Amazon to go inside of them but I think they’re worth it! Alongside those pillows are a few decorative pillows I got from West Elm. They add a great texture and a hint of color. For added comfort, I also have my weighted blanket that I sleep with every night!

Next to my bed I have a nice small lamp and my bedside table. Since it’s just me, there was no need for multiple tables and I oddly like the bed in the corner. Above my bed I had my hats hung on command hooks and I have a series of prints from Etsy over the headboard.

Pro Tip: when hanging frames, be very careful with velcro command strips. They can hold up your artwork but you REALLY want to press them on or they fall. May be advice from previous experience…

In the final corner of my room to the right of my window I have my garment rack and tech gear. Moving out of my bigger workspace was a slight point of anxiety for me because I loved my filming corner at my parents. It was a great size and I had ample room to record whatever I needed to. Now I just film to the right of my garment rack or against the blank wall behind the door. Both options have worked great for me so I can’t complain!

As to wall decor, I have my weekly dry erase board to keep me focused on work and pleasure throughout the week as well as a series of geometric shelves to display some higher end goods. I also added a smaller plant to provide greenery in the space and contrast against the warmer tones found in some of the decor.
